ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ  ਤੇਰਾ ਕਾਜ ਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ 

ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿਆ  ਰੱਖਣਹਾਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਈ 

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਈ

ਪਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਢੱਕ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੋ ਸੱਭ ਥਾਂ ਹੋਏ ਸਹਾਈ

Bad luck worked for me 

Stayed a bachelor and happy

No boss wife I am free

Complexion dark as dark could be 

One leg short blind in one eye 

Couldn't find bride though all did try 

Then one unfortunate girl did agree

I was in seventh heaven full  of glee 

Tied pink turban pinned a pomp a kalgee 

Royally sat on a horse and reached the wedding site 

Proud uncle shot his gun and gave the horse a fright 

Horse took off and riens slipped out of my hands 

It gallopped all the way back to village stable stand 

On a friend byke I managed to reach back again 

But all my efforts and haste were in vain 

Bride's old geezer of a grandpa  declared me unfit for married life 

Couldn't control a  mare horse he said how will he manage his wife 

So that  wedding day my bad luck worked for me 

No marraige for me stayed bachelor happy and free

My heart is abode of a saint

A devil dwells in my brain

Saint is feeble devil is strong 

Saint can't stop devil from doing wrong 

And devil forces the saint to come along 

Saint says don't drink your liquor you can't hold 

Devil says sip enjoy the swing and be bold 

I get drunk misbehave and bear my wife's scold 

Devil devises fraud to get rich and earn fame 

Saint cautions don't do it you'll get bad name 

Devil pushes ahead saying name and fame are life's game 

Devil's lecherous eyes hover over beautiful faces like bumblebee 

Saint says stop it is scandalous where is your morality

Devl defends love is natural force you can't fight nature thats reality

With age the saints seems to be getting stronger 

Times it overcomes devil doesn't follow blindly any longer 

Praying for the day when saint rightly plays his part 

Not having his way in disgust the devil may depart 

Sober Seventlh Day

I had a love for my drink

Few tots down would feel like a king 

Would sit at the bar with tankard of beers 

Klink glasses with friends and howl cheers 

Aftrer dinner sipped and relished some wine 

Cracked silly jokes and had a good time 

Those were good  and carefree bachelor days 

No worry of future thought I will stay happy always 

That was not to be things changed when I tied the knot

From a sober family liquor is bad was her thought 

To curry her favour I went on the wagon and became sober 

Friend found my serious talk boring and stopped coming over 

Life became dull the wife found sober hubby not much fun

Wife relented and said you can drink when friends come

My friend are friends by turns eacd day they come to call 

I have six friends so I drink six days and have a ball

Sober seventh day I spend with my dear wife 

Touch wood together we enjoy blissful life

I have no plans and  don't know what to do 

I'll keep at it and not give up 

Maybe He graces me with luck 

I wish to be happy and have many a friend 

Want to frolic through life dance and sing

Misery in the world makes me sad 

I can't erase it and  I feel bad 

Hatred and war not for me I want peace and calm

To a wounds of humanity I want to apply balm

I do my bit tell jokes and make gloomy ones  smile 

It works at times people forget thier misery for a while

Life is tough life is a grind 

World is cruel justice blind

Kismat is heartless Nature not kind 

Misery will befall you and put you in a bind 

Crying will come itself laughter you have to find 

But life has to be lived there is no in lieu

So chase happiness live joyfully is my view 

Don't chase wealth don't chase fame 

Competing with others is no end game 

Make a list of all that you desire 

You'll find most of it is not required 

Have less wants  and live simply 

Pray for good health to live happily 

Share what you can experience the bliss of giving 

Be grateful to The One for grace  of life you are living 

Life is to be lived  as a game not as a grind 

Think of life as good happiness you'll find

A sad face in sight makes your own happiness that much less
